What is Naturopathy?

A Naturopath is a health practitioner who applies natural therapies. Her/his spectrum comprises far more than fasting, nutrition, water, and exercise; it includes approved natural healing practices such as Homeopathy, Acupuncture, Hypnosis, Aromatherapy, and Herbal Medicine. At a time when modern technology, environmental pollution, poor diet, and stress play a significant role in the degradation of health, a Naturopath’s ability to apply natural methods of healing is of considerable importance.

"The body has this capacity to heal itself if given the right conditions and naturopathy, along with acupuncture, homoeopathy, herbal medicine, and most other holistic modalities subscribes to this basic understanding of the body’s own innate intelligence."
Origins of Naturopathy

The principles of Naturopathy were first used by the Hippocratic School of Medicine in about 400 BC. The Greek philosopher Hippocrates believed in viewing the whole person in regards to finding a cause of disease, and using the laws of nature to induce cure. It was from this original school of thought that Naturopathy takes its principles.

  • The healing power of nature - nature has the innate ability to heal
  • Identify and treat the cause - there is always an underlying cause, bit it physical, emotional or spiritual
  • Do no harm - a Naturopath will never use treatments that may create other conditions
  • Treat the whole person - when preparing a treatment plan, all aspects of a person's being are taken into consideration
  • The Naturopath as a teacher - a Naturopath empowers the patient to take responsibility for his/her own health by teaching self-care
  • Prevention is better than cure - a Naturopath may remove toxic substances and situations from a patient's lifestyle to prevent the onset of further disease
What Does a Consultation Include?

The Naturopathic Consultation is built around listening to each individual’s health story. An in-depth and detailed case history is taken to gain the person’s whole health picture. At the end of each visit a Naturopathic treatment plan is formulated. Naturopathic Medicine recognizes and respects that each person is unique and therefore the treatment plan is reflective of this. The treatment plan is based on each individual’s goals, abilities, and interests. A person’s treatment plan will change and develop as they continue on their path to optimal wellness.

The naturopathic consultation may differ from seeing your family doctor. Medical doctors typically focus on the treatment of the symptoms of an illness or disease. Naturopaths however, are more interested in the underlying cause of an illness.

Naturopathic consultations are typical longer than consultations with conventional medical doctors. A first visit typically takes 1 hour to 1 1/2 hours. A thorough assessment of your health needs is made which includes examining all aspects of your current and past medical history. You will be asked to complete a medical form prior to our session.

During our consultation, Paula will also use her psychic abilities to connect with higher beings for their guidance in your session, helping her to key in on areas that you may be struggling with and bringing forward other health concerns that they feel need to be further explored.

Sessions are provided in person or via online video chat (zoom).

Your session will follow with a report of our session, along with a plan of action using the services that Paula provides. Any services/products that are used/created as part of your naturopath program will be at 10% off regular rates.

All sessions are confidential.
